Transforming government transparency through media, data, and advocacy

We're dMedia — transforming government transparency through media, data, and advocacy. We are looking for seed funding to help us hire a few of our contributors and pay a few expenses.

We've built a hybrid business model that fuses data-driven investigative journalism, independent field reporting, research infrastructure, and modern media services. Our goal is simple: expose waste, strengthen accountability, and rebuild public trust.

Our Partners

dMedia operates as a commercial media and technology company supporting two key partners:

  • DOGE Network — an open source based group of partisan government watchdog projects focused on oversight and reform
  • Department of Open Data (DOOD) — a nonpartisan nonprofit building public data infrastructure

This structure lets us generate revenue through commercial media and technology services while directing surplus resources to DOGE's advocacy efforts and DOOD's open data work, ensuring long-term sustainability beyond grants and donations.

Our community brings together researchers, engineers, and journalists dedicated to making government data accessible and useful for meaningful research and reporting.

We work symbiotically with the federal Department of Government Efficiency. While the federal DOGE focuses on the massive DC bureaucracy, we focus on states and cities — together, we advance the shared goal of a more transparent and accountable government.
